I don’t see these three, little faces often enough, but when I do, this is for sure – they’re happy. Happy together. And after a week of sand between their toes, riding the waves, climbing the lifeguard stand, giggling with their buddies and chasing the Fudgy Wudgy man, they’re really happy. Life is good in Sea Isle City – I’m sure they’re already looking forward to next year. Love you guys!
It’s been a little while since I’ve been in this fabulous family’s home. After all, we’re not talking whispered newborn sessions anymore. We’re happily squealing our way through the woods, clambering up stone steps, finding secret gardens, magical spaces and the perfect place for “hide-seek”(as their youngest so sweetly puts it). Such a perfect way to spend an afternoon. And although I can’t tell you exactly what hangs on their kitchen wall right now. I can tell you that after our afternoon, I picture a wooden sign with the following sentiment…

I love a newborn session – the gentle, calm, quiet of it all. That said, I also love when an older sibling turns the quiet on its head, with the rambunctious, curious, big love that accompanies an older brother or sister. My family will tell you that my memory is horrific, but I remember the day my little brother was born. The silly hat and covers on my shoes that I had to wear when I went in to meet him, the excitement of bringing him home and sitting on the couch propped with a pillow to hold him. I was proud – so proud, that I took him for show-and-tell in my second grade class. I know the feeling, and I love to see the same pride and affection in the little ones below.

Every now and then there’s a shift in my subject matter from the wonderful, noisy chaos of childhood to the serene, pure, love of a bride and groom. Both loves are immense, yet the calm, quiet love of a couple on their wedding day is unlike any other day. For that very brief moment, the hustle and bustle stops and they’re able to focus solely on one another. Meet Janelle and Randy – they not only adore one another, but they delight in being together. It was an absolute honor (and so much fun) to capture the love between them.

I got a brief glimpse into life with 3 boys the other day and it warmed my heart. Our afternoon was filled with all of the above and more. And, the best part? In the midst of all that running and crashing, there was such an adoration amongst these brothers. Check out the love below…
